I am today & tomorrow participating in a continuing education conference, "Collaboration & Communication: Web Resources for Ministry" at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. (Hence, the renewal of this blog!)
Like many creative types in ministry, I am blessed & afflicted both with at least a modicum of ADhD. Revelation at this conference of linked bombardment: I have lost the propensity to reflect deeply & even read books cover-to-cover due to my scattershot computer consumption. Where to land with social networking? What to leave by the wayside ... & allow my congregation to embrace & not embrace the latest, "new-&-improved" tech at its own pace? God grant me -- and all of us! -- the gracious gift of discernment, discernment, discernment ... as well as the ability to embrace the meditative and reflective spirit that is less into religious sales & more into spiritual management ...
